Safari Pricing
For many people the bottom line is cost. After being on many safaris, in several African countries, I had an idea of bringing the best experience to more people. With the help of our experienced Kenyan guides, a safari is the affordable trip of a lifetime.
How to compare safaris
Lodging- Find out what your accommodations are like in advance. This is the largest part of safari cost.
Guide- In Kenya guides can't get licensed without extensive training, but there is no substitute for experience. We have experience.
Vehicle- What kind of vehicle and how many people to a vehicle. This is where you spend a lot of time. Comfort is very important and so is being able to easily observe wildlife. A private safari does not always mean private truck.
Flights- Many companies use in country flights- Are they included in the safari cost? We try to arrange safaris by truck but, we will use in country flights if it is desired. Having done both, I can say with conviction: the magic of a safari often begins long before you reach the park gates. In-country flight considerations: Cost, amount of time saved, and luggage allowance (bush planes are very strict on this).
Are park fees included? If not ask how much for park fees per day per person. We include park fees.
How do I make my reservation

We will work with you to produce a full itinerary with pricing to have available at the time of booking. Any changes after that may change the price of your safari. There is a $1500, non-refundable down payment due at the time of booking ($500 for minors under the age of 16).
Travel Documents
You are solely responsible for obtaining any documents, including a valid ID, passport, Kenya ETA, vaccination certificates, documents for traveling with minors and any other documents required for participation on your trip.
A passport is required with at least 6 months validity after the end of your trip and must have at least one blank page.
If you are staying over in Europe you may need to get authorization from the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS)
You may be required to obtain Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to enter the United Kingdom if you stay over before or after going to Kenya.
We cannot assist you in the application for a passport or visas. For US citizen passports refer to www.state.gov US Department of State. We will send you the information you need to obtain Kenya ETA about 60 days prior to your safari and you should apply within 30 days. Be sure to allow sufficient time to have your application processed if you are applying for a passport or renewing a passport.
What information and materials do I need for my Safari comfort?
Prior to your trip, we will provide you with packing tips and suggestions, as well as information regarding luggage for your safari. Your package will also contain other instructions needed to make your safari great. Most information will be sent electronically.
Are there luggage restrictions?
Please check with your international airline carrier about luggage restrictions for flights to and from Nairobi. If you are booking a flight within Kenya you will need to check with that airline also. Bush plane restrictions are usually strictly enforced and you may be limited to a duffel bag under 30 lbs.
If you are on a driving safari with us- keep in mind that luggage moves in the truck with you. Travel light as you comfortably can, it makes it easier to keep up with things. One carry on or a back pack along with a medium suitcase (not hardside) per person is recommended.
What can I expect the lodging to be like?
We take care with our lodging choices. We use Tented camps and lodges, both with en-suite bathrooms. Booking earlier gives us more properties to choose from as accommodations are limited in Kenya. There will still be many great choices available. We have preferred properties that are 4 and 5 star, if these are not available we will work to get you something comparable.
Health and Vaccinations
Guests will be required to comply with Kenya's vaccination requirements. Go to the Kenyan government website for this information and read what is recommended and what is required. The website is health.go.ke. Information may also be obtained from the Center for Disease Control website. Be sure to read carefully on these websites. Make sure to understand what is required and what is recommended. Visiting another country before traveling to Kenya may change the requirements. You should look into vaccinations and malaria medications well in advance so that have time to obtain these before you go.
If you have a C-pap or other medical device, please let us know in advance. We need to be able to obtain distilled water for your device in advance and you may need to bring special adaptors to plug into outlets. If you have special dietary needs let us know so we can get the lodging to comply with this. In most of the camps and lodges food is buffet style.
Do not use tap water to brush your teeth or drink- all accommodation's provide free bottled water for medications and tooth brushing in your room. Bottled water and drinks may be purchased for meals or around the camp/lodge. We keep bottled water for free use in the safari vehicle cooler while you are on a drive.
Is there a minimum age or recommended age?
The recommended age is 10 years old. You should consider the amount of time spent on game drives and doing activities that younger children can get bored with. For the safety of all concerned, everyone needs to be able to follow the guides directions.
What is the activity level?
All accommodation's have swimming pools and walking paths between tents or lodges within the fenced area. There is not a lot of physical activity unless you go swimming. Getting in and out of the vehicle can be challenging for some because of the height. If this is the case for you, let us know so your guide can provide a step stool. Game drives are in 4 wheel drive vehicles and the roads are often not maintained so you can get some rough rides- take this into consideration in case of back and neck trouble.
Do I need to purchase trip insurance?
Travel insurance is strongly recommended and is available through multiple independent travel insurance providers. Travel insurance usually covers trip interruption, and baggage protection and delays. Being insured for travel accidents and delays, emergency medical and dental services and medical evacuation is most important. If you do not purchase travel insurance, you are responsible for any medical expenses and evacuation costs that may arise during your travel.
What if I need to cancel my reservation?
Cancellations may be made in writing or by phone. The time of cancellation will be the date upon which we receive notice from you. We require a non - refundable $1500 per adult and $500 per minor under the age of 16 payment down at the time of booking. The remainder becomes due 90 days before your trip departure.
Our policies on this are based on the required payments to guides, lodging, and activity providers. If you are having difficulty with your safari booking, please let us know immediately.
